For companies — CPO.Agency, the agency Anton Tupikov and I run: product, technology and teamsSees, inspires, thinks, acts and lives. The five VITAL pillars — for a leader and for a company.
It usually sounds like this
“I come back from vacation, open my laptop — and three days later the same weight is back”
“The company has grown, and I still make every decision”
“Everyone nods at the board meeting. I don’t know what they really think”
“New role, and everyone expects me to deliver from day one”
“From the outside everything is fine. Inside it feels empty”
“There is no one I can think out loud with”
For fifteen years I tracked product metrics: revenue, conversion, retention. Only later did I notice that the most important number in a company is never measured — whether the person running it is still alive inside.
Today I work with CEOs and senior executives: with them, their teams and their business. A person, a team and a company shape each other more than it seems, so I never take them apart.
I think we overrate strategy and underrate the state of the people who carry it out.
I don’t give advice — you find the answer. Decisions like that get carried out far more often.Lena Tupikova

VITAL — five pillars for a leader and a company
The same five questions work for a person, a team and a business.
Only the scale changes.
Every engagement starts here: I look at which pillar holds and which one gives way.
Where I am going and where I am taking the company.
What gives energy, and what quietly drains it.
How decisions are made and which patterns keep repeating.
What actually gets done, and who owns it.
What place work takes in life, and what it is all for.

Lena Tupikova
For fourteen years at Yandex I launched products across countries, built teams and ran the company’s School of Managers. I knew how to manage business goals well — and had little idea what I wanted myself.
Then came burnout and a year of searching: I started teaching, consulting and coaching, and trained in psychoanalytic business consulting. Today I direct executive programs and the Leadership Lab at Central University in Moscow, and work one-on-one with leaders.
Sometimes the most valuable outcome of a meeting is a thought that makes life a little less comfortable at first.
