I knew how to manage business goals well — and had little idea what I wanted myself.
For fifteen years I launched technology products, built teams and took services into new markets. Fourteen of those years were at Yandex: launching Yandex Direct in several countries, ad technology, Yandex Eats, and Yango Eats in five countries as CPO of international products. Later I ran the Yandex School of Managers.
Then came a year of searching: burnout, a trip to the other side of the world, more study. That year I started teaching, consulting and coaching leaders — and realized that what I had always enjoyed most was working with people — helping them grow, and doing it with care.
Today I do that in three places: in executive programs at Central University, one-on-one with CEOs and senior leaders, and at CPO.Agency, where Anton Tupikov and I help companies with product and technology.
What I studied
I started with computational mathematics and cybernetics, then mathematical economics and innovation management. For a long time I believed management was about systems and numbers (oh, how wrong I was).
So my latest degree is a master’s in psychoanalytic business consulting. It taught me to look at what happens between people, not only in spreadsheets.
